A Wish

I wish I was,
A girl,
Young, carefree,
Hardy,
No responsibilities;
Seamless horizons,
Running wild,
Getting knocked down,
Chasing again,
Careless & carefree,
Wanton,
Gay abandonment,
Laissez faire,*
I wish I was
Still…. A girl.

***

Compassionate,
Ruffian,
Ignorant, naive,
Yet cautious;
A little haughty,
Headstrong,
Carte blanche,**
Unrestrained indulgence,
I wish I was
Still…. A girl.

***

Doting mother,
Lover, wife,
Considerate companion,
Daughter, sister;
Responsibility,
Restraint and liability,
Are now a part of my
Identity… Always
Striving for perfection;
Passion my stimulus,
Love and obeisance
my reward.
Ahh…! I wish
I was
Still…. A girl.

*Laissez faire – indifferent; the policy of leaving things to take their own course, without interfering

**Carte blanche-  blank cheque

  1. There is always a small child alive in all of us. we grow up only to restrain that child.. do we work hard enought to make him giggle again.. lets break all the rules to make him alive again once in a blue moon atleast…
