Slowly and Surely

By:- Ranjeeta Nath Ghai

Broken pieces of memory,
Are all joining back,
In subtle movement of my subconscious
Patiently perceiving,
Tiny little fragments of happiness
Slowly, slowly…

Easy as a feather,
I fell in love
Slowly, peacefully, and beautifully.
Stroking your chin,
Stroking your cheek,
My head resting on your chest,
Skin to skin,
Lip to Lip,
My finger nails, tracing your spine.
Slowly penetrating down
Harder, faster, Deeper,
Slowly, steadily and surely.

I’ve left my mark on you plenty of times,
With every touch you
Revealed more,
My heart still skips a beat,
I want to see all of you,
Nothing which you can hide,
Not even your vulnerability
Staring deep into your eyes.
A mirror to your soul.
Offering everything, like I had,
My heart. My mind. My universe.
Slowly and surely.

I drank the poison of separation,
Hiding in the cover of silence,
Helpless, alone; I wept in silence.
All those incoherent notes,
Are now joining together,
Slowly, slowly..
