Roots and Limbs

Plant me in another garden
Where my roots
Aren’t ripped out of the ground
Where enveloped by rich soil
My roots will explore the depths of the earth.

*

Plant me in another garden
Where the squirrels will run
Right up to the branches
And leaves whisper among them
Trying to communicate with the wind.

*

Plant me in another garden
Where company of sour visitors
Will not be a threat to my existence
Where while growing with resilience
There won’t be extinction, oblivion, darkness.

*

Plant me in another garden
Where I’ll be able to stand tall
Bearing testimony to various events
Weathering many adversities
But won’t be plundered and pillaged.

*

Plant me in another garden
Where while sitting under a tree
Each one holds ground
Creating a network with the synergy
Communications takes place, leaving me feeling triumphant.

*

I’m a tree;
Plant me in another garden
Where the skies cloud over
Sounds of thunder smell of the rain fill the air
My leaves dance with glory, and branches bear fruits of love.

*

Plant me in another garden
For isn’t it considered akin to murder
To uproot a sapling before it digs its roots into the Earth?
As each tree longs to have roots
To be tangled and at peace.
