Flashback: She Lit Up His World

By: Ranjeeta Nath Ghai

There he was
Standing by the poolside
All dressed in black
With a peek of white pocket square
On his dinner jacket.

There she was
Her brown eyes wild and bright
Close enough to read his thoughts
A graceful phoenix in flight;
Vanquisher of the night.

He reached out his hand
Pulling her closer
Close enough to softly melt her heart
Planting a kiss on her voluptuous lips
He heard himself proposing to her.

He asked, “Will you?”
She answered, “I will.”
The electrifying thrill of that moment
Encompassed us all.
Till the warm dawn returned!

Kissing those lips and then kissing some more
Only Carl could kiss Celina in a way
Causing her two fiery wings to soar and soar
While the golems of the golden earth
Bowed to this fire bird.
