I watch the rainbow form and
Wait for it to touch the ground.
Oft wondering, whether it is a tunnel
Of dreams, where I’ll find a pot of gold
Where it ends, or a divine bridge for the
Departed souls to cross over the other realm!
It looks like an inverted smile that spreads
Across the skies, mesmerising the senses.
If only I could touch the colours
And smear them on me.
If only I could colour this monochrome world
With the colours of life so rich.
The science that explains this spectacle
Cannot fathom my feelings for it. A song that fills
My heart and mind with the miracle of light
And spectrum so divine. Its ethereal beauty
Making the days grilling routine
Seem insignificant in comparison.
Betwixt the tears from heavens
And the thunderous growls,
You appear out of nowhere,
Playing with the mist and flirting
With the sunshine.
Uncapturable; delicate and pristine.
Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Red;
Bursting out of nowhere, glistening in the light
Your colours breathe life into this ol’ planet.
In the twenty-first century besotted by technology
While we are forgetting the romance under the stars
You offer us the blessings from the angels
In the heavens above and blindly I follow thee.
