A Small World of My Own

IMAG1546_1

In the small world
I’ve always known
I’ve had no qualms
Dreaming of comfort;
Security and familiarities
With a quiet prayer
For an adventure.

Flashbacks and faint memories
Of my mistakes and triumphs
Whispers of strangers and friends
And known enemies co-exist
In collaboration with each other
Struggling but alive within the
Closed walls of my heart.

Through the tiny windows of my soul
I see the truth in disguise
Often transforming into lies
And the wounds that never heal.
Caught between the depths of
My ego and hurt pride, I struggle; moving upwards
Yearning to break the surface and to survive.
