The Lost Bridge

Some victories have been won
And many are lost
With each passing day,
People continue to fight
Their differences, friends,
And societal norms,
There isn’t time to breathe,
As they try and push their demons down.
Worries. Pains.
Burdens of the real world.
The work you do and the stress that accompanies it.
All are well hidden; inside the confines of the mind
Hoping against hope that something
Could erase past mistakes
Living on; continuing to breathe
All fighting a battle with their inner thoughts.
Dealing with a high voltage drama:
Called life.
Each forgetting the people who love them.
Wasting the time given to live
With a feeble attempt to blink away the tears,
Facing the fear of failure and rejection
They continue to search on for that lost bridge…
But the bridge between childhood and adulthood does not exist.
