A Bridge To Cross

No matter whatever we do in life
However far we think we have come
However successful we think we are
Decisions have to be taken
To cross over to the other side.

Always there would be a bridge to cross.

The path laid out ahead
Maybe long and dark
Leaving us with no other choice
Sometimes but to trudge on ahead,
New beginnings, new ends.
And a future fueled by doubts.

Always there would be a bridge to cross.

The hidden giant of uncertainty
Always seems to hound,
Asserting his presence.
Pride. Self-worth. Self-confidence.
Taking a backseat
As we burn our bridges, never to return.

Always there would be a bridge to cross.

In the midst of all the chaos
Little things
Consume nearly the whole of our soul…
Destroying our hopes.
As I collect the charred scraps of wood
I stare at miles and miles of naked road ahead.

I realized;
In between fulfilment and contentment,
There always would be a bridge to cross.
There always would be a bridge to cross
