A Single Thread of Hope
The first time
I held your hand?
My fingers entwined
In the spaces between yours.
Your name
Tiptoed timidly,
On my tongue…
When we met again.
Those moments of euphoria
In the midst of insanity.
For as we lay
Together in tangled arms.
Complete.
That’s what I feel when I’m with you.
The sound of your voice ingrained in my soul
Echoes of your promises still ring in my ears.
Trying to forget about yesterdays worries,
I cling to a single thread of hope
That one day we’ll meet again
And not fade into the anonymity of everyday life.

When we meet some people and get close to them, rarely do we have a second thought that a day will come when they will be far from us and will eventually fade into the anonymity of daily life.
Yes….and when you are far apart you miss that one person so much… and cling on to that’s single thread of hope… maybe one day…
