Guest Post: The Last Wish: Sonia Motwani

Guest Post

I ponder and deeply think
Digging my own thoughts
Till they got into me, completely sink
What if I were given a chance
The last chance to ask for
The last wish to be wished for
Sitting under the starry sky,
I gazed at the tranquil moon
Intensely grabbed inside my soul
I was still figuring out for the thing
That last thing that can leave me as a whole.

Would I wish to soar high
Flapping the wings,
Amongst the clouds, I fly.
Or would I wish to see the wonders,
The mysterious magic
That defeated all the thunders.

Would I wish to just proliferate,
And dance with those aromatic blossoms
Having a romantic date.
Or would I wish to be a shed
In the scorching sunlight,
Showering peace they ever have had.

Would I wish to be a bright beam,
And make sunshine shy
Radiating liveliness to dark and dim.
Or would I wish to be a serene moon,
And shine through the darkness of life
Musing the writers with my boon.

A million thoughts popped in
When I started penning
My last wish on this earth
That can make my life lived worth.
Wondering among the world of my wishes,
I rested myself where my heart and soul bridges,
My last happiness doesn’t lie in such fantastical wishes,
It lies at the sacred place where your and my soul kisses.

My that last wish
When my eyes are about to rest
When my breath sinks my beats inside
When my lips would have never ending smile
When my heart would stop throbbing but will still beat only for you
When my words, last words would still be treasuring you within them
When my head will be on your lap,
Yes in such divine demise
Immortalising you in my last woven poetry,
I wish to share my last breath with you having an eternal poetic history.

Our guest today is a writer, a poet, a girl with a dream of spreading a wave of change through her ink.  She wants to radiate the lives of people and make this world a better place to live in. Her pen is her sword that bleeds her revolutionary thoughts and poetry, her bliss. By profession, she is a freelance writer and a mentor. My chat with Sonia was most enjoyable. I am confident you will enjoy it too.

RNG: Good morning Sonia, with New Year just around the corner, chill in the air and a warm tea in my hands I must admit it’s great to be chatting with you here. You are an excellent wordsmith and can very effectively convey what you feel through your poems. So when did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

SONIA: Hello, Good Morning. Thank you for giving me this opportunity. It all started when I was in 11th grade but I hardly knew I wanted to be a writer. I wrote just to heal myself and in that process, I met the new me. Since that day I realized the calling of my soul and headed towards being a well-read writer.

RNG: that’s great Sonia… I for myself started writing in class Xth during my boards 😉 to be exact. 🙂 How long does it take normally you to write a poem/article?

SONIA: There is no specific time period, depends on the feels.

RNG: We all keep busy in our lives doing umpteen numbers of chores and sometimes it gets difficult to write…. So keeping that in mind what is your work schedule like when you’re writing?

SONIA: Writing is not a work for me so I don’t have a schedule for it. I write to live. Whenever the words urge to flow, I spill them out.

RNG: That’s great! What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?

SONIA: Anything and everything in form of poetry is always quirky.

RNG: Normally I get motivation from my day to day happenings and my surrounding to write. 🙂 Can you tell me what is your motivating factor?

SONIA: My life is my biggest motivation.

RNG: Excellent..just like me 🙂 When did you write your first poem/article and how old were you?

SONIA: I wrote my first poem in 11th grade. I was 16 years old then.

RNG: Sweet sixteen 😉 I love that. How many poems/articles have you written till now? Can you share a few links to your favourite articles or a few lines of a poem close to your heart with our readers?

SONIA: I have written many poems, short verse and even got them published in anthologies. My poems can be found on my Instagram account: @viva_la_poema

Few lines from my poem close to my heart:

With every stroke of pen the poetic nerve within vibrated,
And my caged soul from all filthiness was liberated
That very day I fell, I fell so hard
Deeply, madly, truly with the poet inside my heart

RNG: Now that you have shared your favourite poem, your writing quirks and motivational source can you enlighten me and our readers as to what do you like to do when you’re not writing?

SONIA: I teach in high school and besides when I am not writing, I am reading.

RNG: Oh, so you are a teacher!! A mentor I would say. That’s absolutely great!! Me too (shake hands). Life of a mentor is never boring… each day there is a new twist and a new challenge that kids love to throw at us… and I just love it… but now enough of me. Before I deviate from the topic any further let’s get back to the interview…Would you like to consider publishing your work in form of a book in the near future?

SONIA: It’s my dream to have my own published book one day.

RNG: I did it dear, and believe me there’s nothing like holding your first fresh book in your hands. However, torn it may get you’ll still love it… guess just the way a mum loves her kids…Every day your fan following must be increasing… so do you have any suggestions to help the people reading your interview become a better writer? If so, what are they?

SONIA: Just one thing to be kept in mind:

The biggest hindrance to any art form is the self-doubt. Never write for people’s view, write because your soul wants you to write that.

RNG: It’s been great chatting with you Sonia. I loved each and every moment spent with you. I really hope you publish your work someday. And when you chose to do so… you’ll have me as your first customer.  I hope the readers enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed conducting it. Hope to see you frequent my guest post in future also and all my best wishes for your future.

SONIA: It was great interviewing you, Ma’am. Hope my work inspires. Heartfelt thanks.
