Lend Your Wings To The Light

Lend your wings to the light
Where amongst the wakeup call of birds
Shadows lurk between the realm of light and dark.As the light:  a symbol of hope
Cuts through the darkness
It casts its shadows.
Shadows in which the secrets,
Faux truths; unreal people; fake smiles…lie
And behind every memory
There lies a shadow of impending doom
That fears to trust.

Everywhere hollow promises and whispers of deceit
Looking at the world through rose coloured glasses,
For a man’s sorrows
And woman’s secrets shall never confide
Closed doors: each hiding behind the illusions of dreams
Dwelling in the corners of a soul
Hanging onto pieces of reality
Let’s fly to a place where the shadows don’t lie.

Lend your wings to the light
Where amongst the wakeup call of birds
Shadows lurk between the realm of light and dark.

As I stand in the back of the crowd
Looking around I observe the shadows
How they influence our lives
While the skeletons of some
Are best buried in the closets
The others stalk when the money is rare
And unsuspecting souls shiver at unseen
Threatening voice of a stalker that blocks the light of day.

Shadows; sometimes a source of comfort
Follow us everywhere we go
Trailing behind us sometimes leading,
Heaving, reversing, dancing and frolicking,
For our slightest attention,
Untouched and mostly misunderstood
They reflect the noises inside, my head and yours,
Till a time come that we become one.

Lend your wings to the light
Where amongst the wakeup call of birds
Shadows lurk between the realm of light and dark.
