So Near Yet So Far
Every moment we once spent together, near or far,
Wrapped in your warm embrace,
Has returned to haunt my heart now.
Missing you and dreaming of you,
That ever so perfect moment,
Will never be forgotten.
The first time we hugged,
As we took in each other’s embrace once more,
Our lips colliding in a passionate kiss.
Though instantaneously we pulled back,
Our gaze met,
And we closed in slowly… and blissfully.
A music to my ears; my heart warmed by the sound of your voice,
A touch so great it still gives me butterflies,
A feeling so great it still makes my heart rejoice.
But…, the departures as always are brutal.
To say the least,
The goodbyes grow harder and harder.
A blow; physical and mental,
Tears shining in my eyes.
I watch you leave.
Only comfort to be found,
As you blow me a last kiss,
Is, in the next time we’ll meet.
As emptiness engulfs my heart; I realize,
Some people are bound to meet each other,
But never destined to be together…
