Welcome To New Beginnings

transformation

bY:- rANJEETA nATH gHAI

Seed to sapling
Flower to fruit.
Infant to an adult.
Silence before the storm.
Caterpillar to butterfly.
Peace after war
Recovery after illness,
Healing after injury…
Triumph after a loss.
Happiness; contentment after pain
Ray of light at the end of a dark tunnel.

*

Accompanied by turmoil and trepidation,
Foreboding and disquiet,
Discomposure and dismay.
From desolation to hope,
Transformation is a journey,
Embraced by each element in this universe.
Sometimes, living in the shadow
Of another’s dream,
Or in quest of realising one’s own.
Each emerging from a cocoon,
Praying for their moments of splendour as  hope gets wings.

*

Transformation;
The past is coming to a rest.
Welcome to new beginnings.

A Facade of Laughing Bonhomie

e46b8798589b46b04b914c8b1f37f717

By:- rANJEETA nATH gHAI

Behind her facade,
Is a sorrow with reason.
A girl who was filled with,
Insecurities, and sadness.
Emotions; locked and imprisoned,
Like a tiny white-winged dove.

*

Behind her facade,
I know a different person.
Who lives in a hope with dying light,
Looking happy and carefree.
Hiding a boiling, raging love,
Longing to be free.

*

Behind her facade,
Is a well filled deep with tears,
Home to her deepest darkest fears.
And I wish I could spill the sadness,
That threatens to destroy her,
Like storm waters sinks a ship.

*

Behind her facade,
She would always smile.
She would always laugh.
But her eyes void of life,
Voice void of emotions.
And I’m afraid they’ll buy the facade and she’ll drown.

*

Oh Mauli…!!
Don’t you know that you’re too convincing.
It’s time to remove the mask,
You’ve worn all your life.
Let your true self show.
Let the world peep in through the windows of your soul.

…..because all is not bleak.
All is not lost.

Shall We Agree To Disagree

download

By:- rANJEETA nATH gHAI

Tell me,
Shall we agree to disagree-
That fear exists only in the mind
And wealth is entirely subjective?

*

Tell me,
Shall we agree to disagree-
That poetry is a form of expression; a means to protest,
It’s not for the faint of heart but for the strong in thought?

*

Tell me,
Shall we agree to disagree-
That forgiveness and acceptance are two entirely different things,
And there is strength in succumbing to that which is greater than you?

*

Tell me,
Shall we agree to disagree-
That to move forward and progress; we need tactics and influence
Use the knowledge to understand and power to control?

*

Tell me,
Shall we agree to disagree-
That in order to be great ourselves and change how people think,
We must break our own barriers?

*

Tell me,
Shall we agree to disagree-
That if you see someone who has less than you,
You should offer them an opportunity to achieve more for themselves?

*

Tell me,
Shall we agree to disagree-
That if you see someone who was born with something that you have not,
We shouldn’t be envious, but be happy for them?

*

Tell me,
Shall we agree to disagree-
That though our opinions may vary, we’ll come together in peace,
Resolving our views in faith and we’ll part strengthened in love?

*

Shall we agree
Or shall we disagree,
That even as we’re still debating; disagreeing; holding onto every word,
We will not hate each other and try to part as friends?

Life Touches You Like That

gloomy-faces-mrutyunjaya-dash

By:- rANJEETA nATH gHAI

Wandering aimlessly,
Begging for food to assuage his hunger
He wore a shirt,
Old and tattered…
Holes in places, faded all over;
Sans buttons;
Chest plastered with bandages;
Of injuries unknown to me.

***

It was so ironic,
Me alighting from my car.
Going to buy samosas* to eat,
Not out of hunger.
But because of my whims,
He a beggar.
With not a penny on him,
Hungry; famished,
But no penny to buy food.

***

His eyes; they follow me inside.
Searching for a favor,
Those goodies visible,
Through the showcase; taunting him.
The look he gave shall never leave me.
An unsaid plea;
It made me wonder;
Is Life all about wearing,
A good shirt and having money in your pocket?

***

I guess… a few moments is all that it took,
For me to make up my mind.
And offer help,
Mindlessly,
I ordered a meal for him too.
Handing it over; I saw,
Puzzled look of the customers,
His face lit up; eyes expressing thanks.
I had no words…
Was I being generous, or just doing my duty?

***

As I walked away from him,
I realized…
Life touches you like that…

*A samosa or samoosa, is a fried or baked dish with a savoury filling, such as spiced potatoes, onions, peas, lentils, macaroni, noodles or minced meat

PS:- This is a true incident which happened with me today.

Stylish To Simple

img_1234985391_626575

By: rANJEETA nATH gHAI

Elegant;
Wrapped up in exquisite garb,
Bedecked with jewels and pearls.
Naked mink, ermine and cashmere.

***

Rugged and handsome,
With perennial tan,
Distinctive and stylish; gleaming car,
A real ladies man.

***

Debonair;
Stylish men and stylish women,
Expensive leather and wanton pearls;
Overflowing with grace and confident demeanor.

***

But for ME,
Fashion is not about style,
It’s wearing what you like and carry it off with aplomb.
Wear a Pajama when everyone is wearing Prada.

***

To be cheerful by spirit.
Beautiful by nature.
Youthful by heart.
Leisurely and confident by pace.

***

…that’s stylish for ME…

Passion Untrammelled

3eece9b5c8b814e91bd17861f75caf24

By:- rANJEETA nATH gHAI

Lustful whispers;
Fires of passion,
Burning relentlessly;
Unique,
Not random or undefined.
Eyes flickering so brilliantly,
Irresistible lips;
As fiery passion consumes,
Erratic breathing;
Passionate embrace;
Almost teasing; almost retreating,
The winds of passion tugging at hearts,
Intertwined bodies;
Souls dancing passionately;
Heart screams; lust satisfied,
Passion now a quiet past moment.

… and a subtle promise of tomorrow.

Restrained Ambitions and Inborn Passions

abstract-art-passion

By:- rANJEETA nATH gHAI

Passion is happiness and bliss.
It is pain and tears.
It is tumultuous.
Passion is victory, triumph and delight.
Soul burning up with the most violent flame; passion.
Where passion leads; fools follow.

*****

Scandalous rumors,
Lustful whispers; jealous lovers,
Restrained ambitions of the insanely devoted,
Hallucinating geniuses trading sleep for progress,
Inglorious bastards, born of passion
Our passion: an obsequious sentiment; ‘forever.’

*****

Passionate speech.
Passionate kiss/embrace.
Passionate plea for help..
Passionate courtship.
Passionate and stormy relationship.
Or, a priest delivering a passionate sermon.

*****

Harboring love and hate.
Failure, success and glory;
Determination and persistence;
When a passionate person rebels,
Beauty resonating deep within the glowing essence.
Redemption and restitution will be sublime.
